Janelle sees relationships as an integral part of her design process. She believes that bringing different perspectives to the table creates stronger ideas and helps ensure that design decisions are thoughtful, relevant, and grounded in the people they serve.

Janelle is always looking for new experiences, perspectives, and opportunities to learn. This is reflected in her decisions to study city planning and sustainability, then obtaining a master’s in architecture, before attending SAIT to learn even more about architectural technology.

As an Intern Architect at Denizen, Janelle brings a context-driven and collaborative approach to design. Her process starts with asking questions and understanding the cultural, social, and physical conditions in order to develop a meaningful space. An understanding of people’s relationship to the spaces they inhabit is at the foundation of her design process.

Outside of work, she enjoys creating art. Whether it is a pottery project, oil painting or graphite portrait, Janelle can always be found exploring a creative outlet.
