Darren’s philosophy is simple: life’s too short not to enjoy what you do, and relationships should be built on openness, honesty, and mutual respect. While the ability to work independently is important, Darren values having a support system to bounce ideas off of. The pandemic reminded him of a fundamental truth: it doesn’t matter what we like, or what our differences are. Underneath it all, we are human and we all share a need for connection.

With an early background in retail, Darren learned to navigate diverse personalities, which laid the foundation for his approach in the construction and design world. Though a previous opportunity didn’t go as planned, it provided invaluable lessons that led him to co-found Denizen, where he strives to foster a positive and supportive culture as Principal and Financial guru.

His life motto? The universe tends to unfold as it should. Life moves fast; if you don’t stop to look around every once in a while, you could miss it. (Yes, this is from Ferris Bueller, but it’s not wrong😉).
